I’m a graduate!

Well I just graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science! 🙂 Well now I’m working on Tears again before I find a job (hopefully I can land a job at Microsoft for a consulting position, that would be great). So today I did some animating and did the animation for the enemy guy to “die”. Until next time, “Go Laugh Yourself!”

Music, Intro, and 1 new move

I’ve been working nicely the past two days. Did more work in the past week than since the beginning of the year. lol. Anyways, this next video shows the beginning (which is of course not finished since you’ll be staring at a blank screen for most of it but you’ll get the picture) before the title screen. Just a little intro movie. Then to the unfinished title screen. The music for it is the actual theme music for Tears, an original piece by me. The move that is highlighted in this video is the dash move. You do it by ducking and then pressing right or left on the thumbstick. If I haven’t mentioned in the other blog, I am trying to make this game a twin-shooter per se, basically using both thumbsticks for attacks and movements. You will have the right bumper for jumping, but I’ll see how the control set up goes during testing. Enjoy  and “Go Laugh Yourself!”

Playing Around

So I did a little bit of work over the week. I made two more animations for the enemy sprite (yes, he looks like raiden because of the hat, so what?), one is shown in the video below. The video is just me playing around. I added my own sprites I made that will be used in the backgrounds for the game (it’s the 5th “set” of backgrounds). I’m going to need that so I don’t have to pay anybody royalties.

After playing around I noticed that I could duck right after I jumped in the air and because my position is based off of velocity, I “slide” when I hit the ground. This is interesting to me because it can make for some fun things in the game. Imagine having to jump then duck to get into a little space. The video also shows you a little bit of speed (of course I’ll fine to the controls and backgrounds) so you speed racers out there can probably use this game to get a nice time. 🙂 Note that the video is skipping some frames. So enjoy the video, comment, do whatever, just “Go Laugh Yourself!”

Tears Content Update

I’ve been working a little bit on Tears today and I have another little treat for you guys. It’s nothing spectacular, just a little snippet of me playing the game. I just added an animation of one of the enemies (currently the only enemy I have created) to be running. Before it was just one static sprite moving, but now it’s animated. I have to fix one little thing when he flips over but it’s nothing serious. Well here it is, Go Laugh Yourself!

Welcome to Zedox Game Studios

Hey there! Welcome to the Zedox Game Studios. This is where you will find updates on the status of games made by Zedox Game Studios. I am the creator of Zedox Game Studios, Charles Christopher Woelfel, also known as Zedox/Sub-Zedox/Chris.

Our first order of business is to tell you about our first game. It is called “Tears”. It is an 2D platformer that will be released on the Xbox 360, Windows, and Windows Phone platforms. We will be sharing tidbits about the game little by little before it releases this summer. Let’s give you guys a little treat in the meantime. A “Tears” wallpaper, it is 1920 x 1080. We will be making more as it gets closer to release. Enjoy.
